General FAQs:-

How does Solar Energy Work?
The smallest form of solar energy: Photon, is converted into DC electricity by the solar module made from semiconductor like Silicon. The DC electricity is then converted into everyday usable AC electricity by the Inverter.
There are multiple advantages of switching to solar power like:-
♦ Reduced electricity bills
♦ Lucrative subsidies and incentives offered by the government
♦ Low Maintenance & long life span (like an ideal partner in life!)
♦ Increased property value
♦ Reduce your carbon footprint and contribute meaningfully towards a sustainable future.
Solar modules comprise of Photovoltaic Cells- which are usually made of a semiconductor, generally Silicon. The wafer inside the photovoltaic cell liberates the electrons when exposed to sunlight, establishing a flow of Direct Current electricity. The DC Current is then converted into everyday use AC current with the help of the inverter.
On average, depending on your consumption and panels selected, you can save up to 50-85% on your electricity bills!
A solar power system includes solar panels, solar inverter, AC/DC Distribution Boxes, a mounting structure, cables, etc.

It depends on your average monthly consumption, roof space, sun exposure, your budget, and type of system. Here’s how you can calculate based on your average units consumed every month:-
Units Consumed/Month 0-150 150-300 300 <
Suitable Rooftop Capacity 1-2 KW 2-3 KW > 3 KW

FAQs related to Cost and Finances:-

How much does a 1KW rooftop solar system cost? And how much area does it occupy?
A 1KW system can roughly occupy about 120 sq. ft. area (approx. 11.15 sq. m.) and cost anywhere from Rs. 55,000 to Rs.75,000 depending on type of panels purchased, site conditions, structure cost, etc.
Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the government of India offers following subsidy structure:-
Subsidy for Residential Households
Up to 2 KW Rs. 30,000 per KW
For Additional Capacity Upto 3 Kw Rs. 1800 Per Kw
Systems Larger Than 3 Kw (total) Rs. 78000
Subsidy for Group Housing Society/ Resident Welfare Association (GHS/RWA)
for common facilities, including EV charging, up to 500 kW Capacity(@3 kW per house) with the upper limit being inclusive of individual rooftop plants installed by individual residents in the society Rs. 18,000 per KW
♦ Many banks and NBFCs offer solar loans at low interest rates with EMIS.
♦ Solar Leasing or Power Purchase Agreements- a financial arrangement where a third party installs and maintains a solar panel system on a customer’s property. The customer pays the developer for the electricity the system generates.
♦ Government subsidies for residential systems, and Tax Benefits for Business Customers.
Most solar systems have a ROI period of 4-6 years, after which you get to enjoy free electricity for 15-20 years!

FAQs related to Installation of Solar Power System:-

What does the installation process look like at GB Solar?
Step 1: Our expert engineers conduct a survey of the site and analyze your requirements.
Step 2: We submit the design of a technically sound and efficient system at the best pricing possible for your approval.
Step 3: We get you registered on the government’s portal and complete the relevant documentations.
Step 4: The installation begins! Starting with the fabrication of your structure- then panel mounting, followed by wiring.
Step 5: Meter installation via your DISCOM, final inspection, and grid connection.
Step 6: Enjoy your solar energy!

Note: We will also assist with all the paperwork related to the subsidy claim of your system, and the subsidy amount will be deposited into your account by the government at a time of their discretion.
The actual installation of a simple rooftop system takes just about 2-4 days! It is the government approvals and permits that increase the overall timeline of the project.
As long as the roofs are structurally sound and well supported- it should require zero to minimal modification to handle the weight of the system.

Solar System Maintenance & Warranty FAQs:-

How long do Solar Modules last? And how can I maintain them?
At GB Solar we offer a 12 Year Material and Craft Quality Assurance and a 30 Years Power Guarantee!
However, there are factors that affect their lifespan. While they do not require excessive maintenance, we recommend timely cleaning and regular checkups of the system components to ensure maximum efficiency.
The cleaner the panels- the more efficient the energy generation will be. The frequency of cleaning required may depend on the surrounding environmental conditions. We recommend a simple cleaning at least once every two weeks.
Yes, as long as there is sunlight available- whether direct or indirect, the system will generate energy even if it is at a lower rate.
No, the solar panels undergo degradation when exposed to the outside environment for extended period of time. Rest assured, your system will be able to generate adequate units of energy to meet your needs.
